Bacha Coffee: Explore the Ultimate Coffee Haven in Singapore

For years, when it came to homegrown luxury brands in Singapore, TWG was the first name that came to mind.

More recently, Bacha Coffee has burst onto the scene, quickly rising in prominence. In 2023, it opened a new boutique at Marina Bay Sands, complete with a café — further strengthening its status as a high-end coffee brand.

Here’s a complete guide to Bacha Coffee — a must-visit spot in Singapore, perfect for a bit of shopping or a coffee break between sightseeing.

Story Behind Bacha Coffee

Sister Brand of TWG Tea

Bacha Coffee is operated by V3 Gourmet, a Singapore-based company that also owns TWG Tea. Just as TWG found success as a luxury tea brand, Bacha Coffee was established as its sister brand, specialising in premium coffee.

This shared parent company explains many similarities between TWG and Bacha Coffee — from their brand strategies and product ranges to the store design.

Coffee Legacy Rooted in a Moroccan Palace

The name Bacha Coffee traces its origins to the Dar el Bacha Palace in Morocco, built in 1910.

In the early 20th century, the palace welcomed prominent guests such as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who famously conversed over coffee.

After being closed for decades following World War II, the palace was revitalised as a museum in 2017.

In 2019, Bacha Coffee opened its flagship store in the museum’s courtyard, building a brand story centred on Moroccan coffee.

Mystery Behind “1910” on the Logo

You may wonder why Bacha Coffee’s logo features the year “1910,“ especially since the company was only established in 2019. This is part of V3 Gourmet’s signature marketing. TWG, another brand owned by the company, uses “1837”—the year tea trading began in Singapore—despite being founded in 2008. Bacha Coffee highlights “1910”—the year the Dar el Bacha Palace was built—as its symbolic nod.

That said, to fully immerse yourself in the Bacha Coffee experience, the Coffee Room remains the top choice.
