Universal Studios Singapore Part 1: Tickets, Hours & Getting There
Planning a visit to Universal Studios Singapore? This complete USS guide covers everything needed to plan a smooth and enjoyable day at one of Singapore’s most popular attractions.
This first part focuses on the essentials before your visit, including how to get there, opening hours, ticket prices, and the best ways to buy tickets.
USS at a Glance
Sentosa – An Island Made for Fun
Universal Studios Singapore is located on Sentosa, a resort island off the southern coast of Singapore.
Home to theme parks, hotels, a casino, and a wide range of dining and shopping options, the island brings together just about every form of entertainment imaginable.
Easily accessible from the city in around 20–30 minutes by MRT or car, Sentosa is one of Singapore’s most popular destinations for a day out.
Signature Zones & Rides
Universal Studios Singapore is the smallest of the five Universal Studios parks worldwide, covering around 25 hectares.

Compact yet full of variety, the park features seven themed zones and roughly 20 attractions — all easily explored in half a day or a full day.
| USS | |

One of the standout areas is Far Far Away, inspired by the world of Shrek.
While Shrek-themed attractions can be found at other Universal Studios parks, Singapore is the only one to recreate the entire setting as a dedicated land, complete with the iconic castle and medieval village.

Another must-see is Minion Land, the park’s newest themed zone, which opened in 2025.

The park is also home to several attractions exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore, including Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON — duelling roller coasters that launch side by side — and Puss in Boots’ Giant Journey, a suspended family coaster.
Plan Your Visit
Opening Hours and Closures
Universal Studios Singapore is typically open from 10am to 8pm, though operating hours may vary by day.
The official website provides a calendar showing the schedule for the next three months, so be sure to check it before your visit.

While the park has no regular closing days, any rare closures—such as for private events—will be listed on this calendar.
Annual Events & Schedule
Universal Studios Singapore hosts a variety of events year-round.
| Event | Details |
|---|---|
| Chinese New Year | A festive celebration marking the Lunar New Year, held in January or February |
| Halloween Horror Nights | An annual horror event held around Halloween in October |
| Universal Christmas | An event celebrating the Christmas season in December |
One of the most popular is Halloween Horror Nights, a spectacular after-dark experience that attracts huge crowds every year.
When to Expect Crowds
Crowd levels are a key consideration when visiting a theme park. In addition to weekends, Singapore’s local holiday periods often draw noticeably larger crowds.
Peak seasons
・School holidays: June and mid-November to late December
・Christmas and New Year holidays
・Lunar New Year: January or February (varies each year)
Even during these peak periods, however, crowd levels at Universal Studios Singapore generally remain manageable.

Looking for a hassle-free way to buy USS admission tickets and Express Passes?
Klook, a one-stop platform for tickets to attractions across Singapore, makes it easy.
Once booking is complete, an e-ticket with a QR code will be sent via email. No need to print it—simply display the QR code on a smartphone at the entrance gate for quick and seamless entry.
Skip the Queue with an Express Pass
In addition to the admission ticket, an optional Express Pass is available, offering priority access to attractions through a dedicated lane.
As with admission tickets, prices vary by date and season, starting from around $50.

The Express Pass lives up to its price — a genuine time-saver that allows visitors to skip long lines. Even on busy weekends or during peak seasons, when waits often exceed an hour, this pass makes it easy to enjoy every attraction without the hassle.

The Express Pass is also available for purchase at shops inside the park.
If unsure whether to get an Express Pass, it’s worth entering the park first and checking current queue lengths and wait times before deciding.

No Same Day Re-entry
As of June 2024, Universal Studios Singapore no longer allows same-day re-entry.
